About Familiar Funhouse
Familiar Funhouse is a woman-owned, independent creative company based in Milwaukee.
Through Pitch Ritual, we provide social media marketing, branding, graphic design, video editing, and creative strategy for independent businesses, music venues, artists, record labels, entertainment brands, and other creatively-minded organizations. Through Return to Odd, we buy, curate, and sell vintage clothing and collectibles online and at local pop-up markets.
The business is led by a creative marketer with a decade of experience in event marketing, social media, branding, creative strategy, and vintage resale. Over the years, that experience has grown into a collaborative studio working with organizations that value creativity, authenticity, and community over cookie-cutter marketing.
We’re looking for someone who wants to grow alongside the business. This isn’t just an assistant position—it’s an opportunity to become part of a small creative team where your work has a direct impact on the brands we build and the clients we support.
If you’re someone who enjoys variety, likes learning new things, and gets excited about helping independent businesses succeed, we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Do
No two weeks look exactly the same. This role supports several areas of the business, so responsibilities will vary depending on client projects, upcoming markets, digital product development, and business priorities. You won’t be expected to juggle every task listed below at once. Instead, these examples represent the kinds of work you’ll take on over time.
Depending on current projects, you may be asked to:
Pitch Ritual (80%)
Edit short-form videos and Reels using CapCut, After Effects, etc.
Produce templated graphics including calendars, social media graphics, resized artwork, and other production design
Create & schedule content for Pitch Ritual’s social media channels
Compile and organize social media analytics and client reports
Assist with copywriting and scheduling posts across multiple client accounts
Help produce downloadable resources and digital products for Pitch Ritual, including guides, workbooks, templates, checklists, one-pagers, and other educational materials
Turn provided content and creative direction into polished, well-designed PDFs and other customer-facing resources
Return To Odd (20%)
Assist with formatting, organizing, proofreading, and preparing digital products for sale or distribution
Photograph, measure, organize, and list vintage clothing and collectibles on Depop and the Familiar Funhouse website
Create content for Return to Odd social media
Assist with inventory organization and e-commerce tasks
Help with booth setup, teardown, and sales at occasional Milwaukee or Madison-area markets
Support other creative, marketing, administrative, and operational projects as the business continues to grow
One day you might be editing a Reel for a music venue. Another day you could be laying out a downloadable marketing guide, photographing vintage jackets, organizing analytics for a client, or helping prepare for a weekend market. Variety is one of the best parts of this role.
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone who is:
A motivated self-starter who takes initiative and manages their time well
Comfortable bringing thoughtful ideas and creative solutions to the table while respecting established workflows, client relationships, and creative direction
A proactive communicator who isn’t afraid to ask questions, speak up when something feels off, or suggest ways to improve a process
Creative, dependable, organized, and highly detail-oriented
Comfortable balancing multiple projects and deadlines
An excellent written communicator
Receptive to feedback and genuinely excited to continue learning
Interested in becoming a long-term part of a growing independent business rather than simply checking off tasks
Comfortable working independently

Proven experience creating and managing social media content
Experience editing short-form video using CapCut or similar platforms
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
Familiarity with Meta Business Suite
Familiarity with TikTok

Experience creating digital products such as guides, workbooks, templates, or downloadable resources
E-commerce platforms (Depop, Shopify, Squarespace, etc.)

Project management platforms such as Asana, Airtable, Notion, etc.

Must be based in the Madison/Milwaukee areas or willing to travel to Madison/Milwaukee for occasional in-person work
Must have reliable transportation
Must provide your own computer, modern smartphone, and reliable internet connection
Must be able to occasionally lift 25–50 pounds for market setup and inventory
What We Offer
$20/hour contract position
Approximately 10 hours per week to start, with opportunities for additional hours as the business grows
Flexible scheduling, as long as deadlines are met

A collaborative environment where initiative is encouraged, ideas are welcomed, and growth is expected
The opportunity to learn directly from someone with 10 years of experience in event marketing, social media, branding, creative strategy, and vintage resale
The chance to help shape and grow a woman-owned independent creative company from the inside
